Boomers go for plastic surgery!

1,959,048 baby boomers had plastic surgery in 1999, more than double the amount in 1997, according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
"Baby boomers are living full lives," says Andrew Kornstein, M.D., a plastic surgeon in New York City. "They are healthy and they are making use of today's plastic surgery technology to prolong their youthful lives."

The three top procedures for boomers? Face lifts, liposuction, and eyelid surgery. "Plastic surgery makes you look better and feel better if done for the right reasons," says a 48-year-old New York City headhunter who is pleased with the results of her eyelid surgery and liposuction. "It's not about changing who you are."
